Ok… I threw the bet out there early in the year.  Not one day before the big game, but at least a month away.  I follow a Ohio State fan on Twitter and I bet him.  If Michigan Beats OSU, he has to wear Maze and Blue and post it on his Twitter profile and his blog… If OSU wins… Well I don’t think it will happen, but I would have to wear scarlet and grey and post it as my profile photo and put a photo of it here!

So go Blue!!!!!!

With the E-Myth in the archives it didn’t take me long to find a new book.  I was referred this book by the marketing director of West Michigan Science & Technology.  She spoke at Lowell Rotary yesterday and chatted with me after the meeting about social media marketing.

So I am reading Punk Marketing - Get off your A and Join the Revolution written by Richard Laemer and Mark Simmons.  Once you get past the “Language” you will see marketing from a completely new angle.  Its something I have been trying to tell my colleagues for the past couple of months.

If you are wondering what your young 17-29 year old clients are thinking than this is the book for you.  As the internet continues to develope into Web 2.0 marketers need to get into the game of social media game or get out of the industry.  If your target market is over the age of 30 you might still have a chance with your use of traditional marketing tools.  You might want to keep this resource around because the older generation is changing faster than you think.

Do you watch TV commercials?   Do you like radio ads?  Do you read the Bill Boards?

I had to fib to my neice when I borrowed her movies, but I watch them!  Why would a 29 year old father of a 5 1/2 year old watch a movie that has been the hype of 8-12 year olds?  Why not?  I was impressed that the Disney did a great job re-inventing itself to the tween market.  Animated films were out with this group.  Musicals are in.

Its going to be interesting how this will effect the drama departments over the next couple of years.  I don’t remember ever having a musical when I graduated, but I am sure that Drama teachers across the globe are thrilled that their students have a renewed view of the High School Musical.

Life is a lot like High School Musical.  Something that is close to extension gets a new look on life.  Soon Drama will be every where and today’s generation will assume that it always existed never to know that the extinction was closer than imagined.

What else is close to extinction that will be re-invented in the next decade?
